# bridge exploit — X 热门讨论 (2026-09-21 13:34 UTC)

## @wmchain (World Mobile Chain) · 09-21 13:10 · ♥66 ↻17 💬4 WMTX Security Update ⚠️ Our response to the SingularityNET bridge exploit remains active.

Trading on centralized exchanges remains halted. While we cannot control activity on decentralized exchanges, our guidance is clear: do not trade or interact with WMTX at this time.

We are continuing containment work, pre exploit snapshot reconciliation, and coordination with exchanges and security partners.

Please use this as the primary source for detailed incident updates and holder guidance.

We will continue to publish major developments here on X as they are confirmed. https://x.com/wmchain/status/2102022548225437788

## @telecomgt (Telecom GT) · 09-21 02:50 · ♥28 ↻3 💬4 On 19–20 September 2026, the SingularityNET bridge — the Ethereum–Cardano bridge used to move AGIX, FET/ASI, NTX, WMTX, CGV and other tokens — was abused.

This was not a classic “hole in the code” exploit. Someone with the bridge’s admin / signing keys signed transactions the contracts treated as valid. A bridge burns tokens on one chain and mints the same amount on the other. If you control the key, you can mint without burning anything: unbacked supply.

What on-chain reports say happened:

About 8.7 million FET was drained from https://t.co/pM9h81UexI’s converter. Huge amounts of AGIX, NTX, WMTX and CGV were minted with no backing (hundreds of millions of units each; more than 2 billion across tokens in some tallies). Some of it was sold; some sat in attacker wallets. Firms such as PeckShield put the attacker’s remaining stash in the tens of millions of dollars, depending on which tokens and prices they count.

https://t.co/pM9h81UexI says its own contracts are not under threat, FET is operating normally, and the attack targeted SingularityNET contracts — mainly the Ethereum–Cardano bridge. They still paused AGIX → FET conversions and their Ethereum-side bridge as a precaution.

Was the bridge closed? After the incident, yes — the public SNET bridge site showed it shut for technical work, with in-flight transactions saved. https://t.co/pM9h81UexI paused its Ethereum bridge too. World Mobile stopped WMTX minting. Don’t confuse that with “the system was off.” Closing the website only stops normal users. The mint/converter contracts still obey admin keys. Those keys were used, so tokens could be printed even if the UI said closed. (World Mobile also had earlier, separate bridge closures in 2026; this attack is the SNET key-compromise event of 19–20 Sep.)

World Mobile (WMTX; CEO Micky Watkins) confirmed unauthorized minting on Ethereum, asked exchanges to freeze affected deposits, is working to revoke mint authorities, and started a pre-exploit snapshot. Watkins said the team had been on it from the first hour with exchanges, market makers and law enforcement, that he’d do a Spaces when he had more, and that they would recover and come back stronger. @wmchain told holders not to interact with WMTX for now and to ignore DMs, fake “support,” recovery services, and migration links.

Why it hurts: existing holders get diluted. FET and WMTX sold off. The community split between people thanking the teams for speed/transparency and people angry at yet another bridge, inflated supply, dumps, and recovery scams.

One line: the contract wasn’t broken — the bridge keys were used to print tokens. A closed website is not the same as revoked keys. Investigation ongoing. Until there’s an official post-mortem, don’t touch bridges or random “help” links. https://x.com/telecomgt/status/2101866525502181703

## @CuadradoDeFi (Dr. Cuadrado, PharmD) · 09-21 02:45 · ♥22 ↻5 💬6 WMTX dropped ~50% and a lot of people are selling without even understanding what happened.

This was NOT just “the market crashing.”

Infrastructure connected to the SingularityNET bridge was exploited, leading to the unauthorized minting of approximately 53.8M ethereum:0xdbb5cf12408a3ac17d668037ce289f9ea75439d7 on Ethereum and creating massive sell pressure.

Important: Cardano was NOT hacked.

This is the distinction people need to understand:

Bridge risk ≠ blockchain risk. Smart contract risk ≠ protocol fundamentals. Price ≠ value.

World Mobile has already taken a pre-exploit snapshot, while exchanges have restricted activity as the situation is investigated.

Before panic-selling a massive red candle, understand what actually broke first.

That’s the difference between reacting to a chart and actually understanding DeFi. https://x.com/CuadradoDeFi/status/2101865481758015925
