So I'm definitely watching this one. Because if @MultiversX just experienced an attack like what's happened BTC and ETH blockchains "rolled into one"... and then they are able to ethically/properly control the damage and restore service on its blockchain? idk i think that would be in fact a pretty sizable win for @MultiversX / EGLD.
The words we're now searching to collectively validate is "ethical": Is what the MultiversX team executed in defense of this exploit "formally" proper? The question must be validated. The code is open source, we can go look at it. That is blockchain at work, too.
And now all of this has me thinking and realizing that we can't really plan for perfection against exploits, now even more in a world of AI and compute potential... We can only plan/expect for what happens WHEN you get exploited.
Not if, when.
This leads me to conclude here and hypothesize that computer warfare is essentially the next wave of adaptation, adoption, and evolution. For blockchains, for the internet, for tech, for the world.

With the way artificial-intelligence and online exploit is advancing, real-world damage control is now greater than ever to have in place. I'm not keen on personal attacks on @X. With time the truth becomes more easily uncovered. We expect exploit, we plan for when they happen, we hope it all executes with no loss, we hope we acted ethically, we take ownership of the truth and consequences.

So. We await the post-mortem report from MultiversX. Meanwhile, validators quickly acted and MultiversX is set to go live again soon. "claiming" zero downtime? and zero loss of funds?? 🤔
I have been watching #EGLD since 2019 and have experienced the erd era, the lows, the highs, the Higher highs, and then the 5 years' bear market and token dilution. I'm a bit speechless when it comes to addressing those later things, because I see what it's done to elrond-erd-2:native token price, the community, and how its lost a lot of people a LOT of money, and it sucks. All of these economic changes happened during the 5 years' bear market, and happened too after "Elrond Network" rebranded to "Multiverse to the Power of X". I've been here, and yes the story is quite messy/imperfect.
So @MultiversX continues to be highly criticized and scrutinized against in 2026. But will it fail? Will elrond-erd-2:native actually go to zerØ? So far it has outlasted and sustained all technical vulnerabilities, exploits, attacks, economic downturns and social media attacks/accusations...
I am however not fond of the arrogant-leaning attitudes I've observed within MultiversX core team, and I believe they have been inaccurate in how they've depicted and categorized some things over the years... It's fair to have lost some trust in the team over the years. I'm not here to debate that, that is just my opinion and to understand it more comprehensibly necessitates dialogue that adds no relevant value. (You can always find me talking about it on podcasts I've been invited to speak.)
Over the bear market I realized how I can better utilize my passions for good. I enjoy writing, I enjoy communicating, I like talking through things, I like to be helpful, I like to be positive.
Fighting a world of hate is not the job of core devs at @MultiversX; it shouldn't be the job of anyone for that matter. For me, I think we should all be here to communicate, challenge, and grow one-another. That's what I want to be here for, and that just so happens to lead me down a path of heightened positivity. It might be delusional to some, but for me it is what I call making sense of something.
So where does that put me in the middle of attack, blame and debate here? An unbiased observer who is simply "pro"-peer-to-peer, or like, a bitcoin perma-bull or something?
What the heck was this post about? You must decide for yourself, and you and I both know that I did not use AI to write it. :-)
