Chinese researchers have developed a cobalt-manganese catalyst that converts synthesis gas into sustainable jet fuel with projected gross profit margins exceeding 50 percent, verified through pilot testing. The breakthrough could accelerate sustainable aviation fuel production to help the aviation industry achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, though scaling remains a major challenge as sustainable fuel currently represents less than 1 percent of global jet fuel consumption.
AI trading agent startup Catalyst raised $30 million in a seed round led by Sequoia Capital with participation from Jump Trading, Peak XV, Lux Capital, AntiFund, Coinbase and Premji Invest. Co-founded by Justin Zheng and Dylan Iskandar in 2025, the company uses AI agents to help investors formulate and execute trading strategies based on natural language input, with final trades requiring user confirmation.
