PANews, October 9 – According to Axios, Meanwhile, a Bitcoin life insurance company backed by Sam Altman, has completed a new $37 million funding round at a valuation of $350 million. The round was led by Bain Capital Crypto, with participation from Haun Ventures, Framework Ventures, Pantera Capital, Apollo, Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures and Morgan Creek Digital. The funds will be used to meet demand for Bitcoin-denominated life insurance in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Bermuda-based insurer Meanwhile is the first life insurance company licensed to operate entirely in Bitcoin. Since its founding, Meanwhile has signed on 15 brokerage firms serving wealthy families, with coverage spanning insurance hubs such as Singapore, Hong Kong, the UAE and Switzerland. Meanwhile's total funding to date has now exceeded $180 million.
