Miko Marczyk has pushed the single-charge distance benchmark further by driving an Audi A6 Sportback e-tron 1,338 km across Poland. The journey took place on public roads and secured the Polish rally champion a Guinness World Record for the longest journey by an electric car on a single charge.

He traveled about 72% farther than the car’s official maximum WLTP range of 777 km in a series-production Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance.

How the Audi Covered 1,338 KM

The drive lasted more than 45 hours and unfolded in normal Polish traffic, not on a closed test track. Marczyk drove through normal traffic, including rush-hour sections, with temperatures averaging 15°C and dropping as low as 7°C.

He recorded average energy consumption of just 7.09 kWh per 100 km. That is roughly half Audi’s official combined consumption figure of 13.6–15.8 kWh/100 km for the A6 Sportback e-tron performance.

- With a drag coefficient of 0.21, Audi describes the A6 Sportback e-tron as its most aerodynamic production model to date.

- Audi says regenerative braking can handle around 95% of everyday braking maneuvers, with recuperation reaching up to 220 kW.

- The RWD single-motor setup delivers 367 hp.

- Marczyk also highlighted correct tire pressures as an important way to reduce rolling resistance and energy consumption.

Achieving that level of efficiency requires patience, smooth inputs and careful speed management. On paper, most drivers will never see numbers this low during their morning commute. The result shows how much additional range you can extract when you prioritize aerodynamic efficiency, low speeds, and careful energy management.

Audi Beats the Previous Lucid EV Record

Zoom out, and you will notice this achievement sets a specific benchmark for showroom-ready vehicles. The previous Guinness record stood at 1,205 km, achieved by a Lucid Air Grand Touring in 2025. Marczyk achieved the record in a series-production Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance rather than a purpose-built efficiency prototype.

His hypermiling strategy focused on smooth acceleration, anticipatory driving, and maximizing regenerative braking. This achievement marks the 2nd time Marczyk secured a major efficiency Guinness Record in recent years.

In March 2025, Marczyk drove a 4th-generation Škoda Superb 2,831 km on a single tank, setting another Guinness World Record. Swapping diesel fuel for pure electric power did not change his methodical approach to hypermiling. The same efficiency-first approach carried over to the electric record attempt.

Conclusion

The record highlights how strongly driving style can influence EV energy consumption, especially when combined with favorable aerodynamics and careful speed management. The Audi A6 Sportback e-tron combines a 0.21 drag coefficient with a 94.9 kWh usable battery and an 800-volt electrical architecture.

Marczyk relied on smooth acceleration, anticipation, proper tire pressures, and extensive regenerative braking to minimize energy use.
